Black Lives Matter solidarity event on The Green in 2022. This was during a period of Covid restrictions - hence people standing apart. The event required BPC permission.
Brill open spaces requests and permissions
Please read this information with reference to the Parish Council’s Brill Common and Walks Policy Document. If you’re lucky enough to live adjacent to Brill Common, The Walks or any of the large green spaces within Brill village, you really MUST read this document!
Works and structures on Brill Common
Midsumer Murders filming at Brill Windmill in December 2021. Parking on and driving across the common requires permission from the Parish Council. A generous donation is always welcome, too!!
To put it simply, you require permission from the Parish Council to carry out any work (repairing a track, for example) or erect or place any structure (including tents, benches, and hen coops) on common land, however close this is to your property. Please read the Policy and then contact the Parish Council to discuss your plans.
Skips
If you plan to rent a skip and the skip is to be sited on common land, please contact the Parish Council. Remember that The Square and The Green are part of Brill Common. If the skip will be on a highway (i.e. street, road or pavement) please contact Buckinghamshire Council (website opens in new tab).
Events
If you wish to hold a formal or large event on public or common land - including The Walks, the Square and The Green - please contact the Parish Council as far in advance as possible so we can support and guide you. Please also contact The Brill Society for events involving the windmill.
Parking on the Green
Parking is already an issue on the streets of Brill so the Parish Council will consider requests to use the Green to accommodate large events. Please note that this is by prior written request only - and may be refused in spells of prolonged wet weather. We also require that you provide a steward to manage the parking and you make good any damage. Requests are considered on individual merit, generally at Parish Council Meetings, so please contact the Parish Council well in advance of your event.
